Abstract

There was a time when art and artists had a high role in the Church. That role has diminished to a point where art, and more specifically the artist, is left on the sidelines with minimal use and development. God has designed certain people to use this area of ministry, yet, most church leadership is not equipped to train and develop them as they need to be trained. By examining the heart of the issue, specific definitions for necessary terms, and common personality/behavioral traits of artists, conclusions can be drawn about how a ministerial leader can go about pastoring and guiding these particular individuals and what implications this has for the Church as a whole.
